Three homes. Three battery brands. Solutions tailored to real household needs.
These three residential solar & battery cases show how battery storage can complement a solar system in different ways. Featuring Sigenergy, GoodWe and AlphaESS, each solution was designed around the household’s energy use, backup needs and plans for the future.
CASE 01 · WATTLE PARK, SA
17.5 kW existing solar | 20kW 3-Phase Hybrid Inverter | 40 kWh Sigenergy battery | Whole-home backup
The home already had a substantial solar system, but the feed-in tariff was just 1 cent per kWh, so exporting surplus power offered little value. The customer wanted dependable whole-home backup, a fast changeover to backup power and extra capacity for a growing household.
PeakVolt installed a 40 kWh Sigenergy battery system with whole-home backup. Its modular design, integrated inverter and smart energy management bring storage and monitoring together, with app-based controls and AI-supported optimisation to help the household make better use of its solar energy.
The home can store more of its solar energy instead of exporting it at a very low rate. The customer now has backup protection throughout the home, substantially lower electricity bills and a system planned with future household needs in mind.

CASE 02 · PARKSIDE, SA
6 kW existing solar | 10 kW GoodWe three-phase hybrid inverter | 24 kWh battery | Essential-load Backup
PeakVolt removed the existing single-phase PV inverter and installed a GoodWe 10 kW three-phase hybrid inverter with 24 kWh batteries. The three-phase setup supports a more balanced supply across the home’s phases and lets solar generation and stored energy work together to serve household use.
The 24 kWh battery was sized to suit the home’s current energy needs, helping reduce grid imports while keeping the upfront investment proportionate. This supports a more practical payback period while retaining some capacity for backup and future electric appliances.

CASE 03 · BRIGHTON, SA
10.56 kW existing solar | 10kW 3-Phase Hybrid Inverter | 37.2 kWh AlphaESS battery | Essential-load backup
With a low feed-in tariff, exporting surplus solar offered little value. The household wanted to use more of its existing solar, keep essential circuits running during an outage and allow for a possible EV purchase in the next two years.
PeakVolt installed a 37.2 kWh AlphaESS battery to complement the existing 10.56 kW solar system and three-phase supply. The system backs up essential loads and leaves room to plan for future EV charging, while keeping the project cost-effective.
The household can store more daytime solar for use in the evening instead of exporting it for very little. It now has essential-load backup, lower reliance on grid power and capacity to support future plans.
